Reusing clips is not the problem. Reusing them and adding nothing is. Point this at a Short you built out of other people's clips and it tells you how much of it is yours, then what to add next.

What it does
- Reads the picture, the sound, and the text on screen, because what you added can be any of the three.
- Counts what really transforms a clip: your own talking, a caption that says something new, an opinion, a hot take, a joke, a picture, or an edit.
- Keeps the things that do not count in a list of their own and says so plainly. A caption that repeats the audio, a rank number on the side, and a title box naming the clip are not faults, they simply do not raise the score.
- Asks which niche the video is in, because enough added work in a ranking is not enough in a story.
- In a ranking every clip is judged on its own, so the one you left playing clean is named rather than averaged away.
- Hands back a score out of 100 and four to six specific moves, most important first.
How it works
- 01 Pick the niche the video is in, from Ranking, Commentary, Storytelling, or Other.
- 02 Upload the video, or paste the link it is published at.
- 03 The reading comes back with a score, what counted, what did not, and what to add.
Questions
- Does this tell me whether a platform will approve my video?
- No, and nothing outside the platform can. What it does is read the video the way the guidelines describe the question, which is whether you added something of your own rather than reposting what was already there. The score is a reading of your material, not a decision about it.
- What actually raises the score?
- Anything you put there that was not already in the clip: your own talking, a caption that says something the picture does not, an opinion or a hot take, a joke, a picture, a graphic, or an edit that changes how the clip reads. Text that only repeats what is being said, a rank number, and a title box naming the clip do not count, and the report says so instead of marking you down for them.
- Why does it ask for a niche?
- Because enough is different in each one. A ranking is judged clip by clip, since each clip is a separate piece of somebody else's work. Commentary is judged on how much of the video your own talking fills. Storytelling is judged on the story rather than on the number of cuts. If you pick Other, all three are read and the report says which one the video turned out to be.
- Can I reuse footage at all?
- Yes, and this tool assumes you are. The question the guidelines ask is whether the result is something new rather than a copy of what it was cut from, which is why the reading is about what you added rather than about the footage itself.
